I have broken my only key, but I have both pieces of the key.
What should I do? |
|
Bring both pieces of
the broken key to the locksmith shop if you can. Be prepared to tell the
locksmith the brand and type of item the key operates. If it is a vehicle,
be prepared to tell him or her the year, make and model. Chances are the
locksmith can generate a new key from your broken pieces. This is likely to
be more expensive than a simple duplicate key (depending on the location of
the break and the general condition of the key). However, it is sure to save
you money compared to a service call. |
