I believe that an unauthorized person has keys to my office furniture.
What
should I do? |
|
It
is fairly unlikely that rekeying the existing lock is practical. Chances are
that you need a replacement lock. If you can remove the lock from the
furniture, just bring it by the shop to obtain an appropriate replacement.
If you can’t remove the lock, you may need a service call. In some cases,
the furniture is assembled around the lock, and the manufacturer has made no
provision for servicing or replacing the lock. In these cases, the locksmith
may recommend installing an auxiliary lock of some kind. We probably won’t
be able to make a recommendation until we see the lock or furniture. But if
you call for advice, it always helps to have any brand names you can find on
the lock or furniture piece. The
key code from the face of the lock
can also provide helpful clues for the locksmith. Keep in mind that we
cannot quote a price unless we can identify the product! |
