I think the lock on my antique (or
antique-style) furniture is broken or needs service.
What should I do? |
|
You
have three options, you can remove the lock and bring it to our shop, bring
all or part of the furniture piece to our shop (such as the drawer with the
lock still installed), or schedule a service call. In some cases, these
locks are impractical to repair. We keep an assortment of replacement locks
in stock, and can order an even wider variety. We will have to assess the
condition of your lock to determine if repair is possible. If not, we will
obtain the best possible replacement lock for your piece of furniture.
Still, it is unlikely that the replacement will be exactly the same
dimensions as the antique lock. Therefore, if replacement of your lock is
necessary, the cabinetry will probably have to be modified somewhat. If it
is a minor modification, we can do it. In some cases, we may recommend
consulting a professional cabinetmaker. |
