I need to have copies made of the
key to a safe, lockbox, or safe-deposit box.
What should I do? |

In
most cases, Busse’s can copy the key for you while you wait. However, many
products marketed through discounters such as K-Mart, Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart
and Office Depot are imported with no thought given to supporting the product
after the sale. In some cases, there are no
blanks available,
period. In other cases, we have found appropriate substitutions (i.e. an old
Volvo key works for “Brinks” brand boxes!). Some manufacturers will send
extra keys to you, but do not offer
blanks for distribution to
locksmiths. Duplicating safe-deposit box keys is simple enough for Busse’s
and most well-equipped locksmiths; however, it is prohibited in
some states (Tennessee and
perhaps others). If you contact us
or a
locksmith in your area with the key in your hand, we may be able
to tell you how to proceed based on any identifying marks on they key. |
