There are locks in
hundreds of configurations that can secure many types of furniture. Some
kinds of furniture are more adaptable to locking devices than others. A
professional locksmith can explain your options and quote a price once he or
she has examined the piece. If the item is portable, you should bring it to
the shop. Otherwise, contact us or
a locksmith
in your area to schedule a service call. Be prepared to tell us a few
things when you call:
1) You must know your
exact street address in order to schedule a service call.
2) Be ready to tell us if the cabinet is metal
or wood.
3) If there is any brand-name information on
the piece, that information can be very helpful.
4) Be ready to tell us how many doors and/or
drawers you would like to lock.
Though the locksmith’s ideal is to arrive at
the jobsite with the correct hardware the first time, in the case of
furniture locks, this can be tall order. There is a very good chance that
the locksmith will examine the piece and make a recommendation, then return
with the hardware to install later. (This should still only result in one
service call charge.) |
